North Coast Bible Institute

 Beginning Thursday, September 13, 2006, the Mentor church of Christ and the North Coast Bible Institute, a satellite school of the Sunset International Bible Institute, will offer the following course: The Minor Prophets (24 lessons; taught by Richard Rogers; facilitated by Marc Addison, elder at the Mentor church of Christ).

The classes will be held every two weeks from 7:00-8:15 p.m. Cost is $30.00 (if taking the class for credit) but free if you are working on a basic certificate or  are auditing the course.

LEVELS OF STUDY -- There are three levels of study available to students of a Satellite School.

A. LEVEL ONE: Audit Certificate:  The student interested in studying the Bible wthout earning any formal credit, or certificate, can simply audit the courses. This student will not be required to take any exams, memorize any Scriptures, or write any papers. Any test papers, memorization, or any other work done by the Audit student should not be sent in to the Sunset External Studies Department for grading! However, the student must purchase the Study Guide, complete the self-exams in the Study Guide, and participate in the class discussions. This will provide valuable reinforcement needed for long term retention. Students will be awarded a “Certificate of Recognition” for each audited course completed.

 B. LEVEL TWO: Intermediate - Biblical Studies Certificate: The student interested in more in-depth study and training is encouraged to enroll in this Biblical Studies level of achievement. In addition to participation in the class discussions, the Level II student will be required to:

1. Complete the Study Guide exercises.

2. Memorize assigned passages, and write them out.

3. Take written exams.

 A “Certificate of Completion” will be awarded for each course satisfactorily completed. Upon completion of the required 32 courses, the student will receive a “Level II Certificate of Biblical Studies” from the Sunset International Bible Institute External Studies Department.

 C. LEVEL THREE: Biblical Studies and Ministry Certificate: The third level of study is the most demanding. It involves all the requirements of the second level plus extra assignments. In addition to the requirements for the second level, the student will be required to memorize extra passages of Scripture, conduct additional readings including an assigned course textbook(s), research and theme papers to write. Following the completion of the full 32 course curriculum, the student will receive the “Biblical Studies Ministry Certificate” from the Sunset International Bible Institute. A “Certificate of Completion” will be awarded for each course satisfactorily completed.

1. Upon completion of 20 courses at this level the student may be awarded a secondary Certificate of Biblical Studies.

2. The students completing either the 32 courses or the 20 courses would be invited to come to Sunset to go through the graduation exercises of the current resident school graduating class. Graduation exercises are held in the summer month of May or June.
