April Newsletter

April is here, and with it comes the beauty of spring and so many chances to gather, grow, and serve together. We are grateful for each of you and for the ways you continue to show up for this community. Spring has a way of reminding us that God is always doing something new, and this month we have several wonderful opportunities to be part of that work — through fellowship, outreach, and simply being present for one another.

This Month
One of the simplest and most meaningful ways to love our neighbors is to spend time with them, and on Tuesday, April 21, we will have the chance to do just that. We are heading to Care Springs for an afternoon of bingo, laughter, and conversation with the residents. No special skills required — just a willing heart and a smile. If you have been looking for a place to step into outreach, this is a wonderful one to start with.

Just a couple of days later, on Thursday, April 23, we will gather again for our Reset ministry, preparing and sharing a meal for 25 at the recovery houses in Newport. It is a beautiful reminder that a shared table can be a place of healing, and those we serve are always blessed by the time we spend with them. If you would like to help cook, serve, or simply come along, reach out to Jami Chowning for the details.

That weekend, the ladies of our church have something special to look forward to. On Saturday, April 25, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm, we will be hosting a Tea with a Missionary Guest — a relaxed afternoon of lunch, conversation, and the chance to hear firsthand about the work God is doing through one of our missionaries. All WMU ladies and friends are warmly welcome. So we can plan accordingly, please register by April 20 by contacting Cindy Wilson at 859-462-0327.

Looking Ahead to May
The first Friday of May brings one of our favorite nights of the year. On May 1, from 6:30 to 9:00 pm, we will be hosting Trivia Night — bring a team of eight or less, or come solo and we will find you a spot. It is $10 per person to play, and the evening includes snacks, fellowship, a silent auction, and plenty of friendly competition. All proceeds go toward the Kids Camp Fund, helping send our children to a week they will remember for years to come. See Carrie for details.

The following week, May 11 and 12, we will gather again for our Downtown Outreach. We will spend May 11 preparing meals together and then head downtown on May 12 to share them with our neighbors. If you have ever wanted to be part of our outreach ministry, this is a wonderful place to begin.

A Note on the Church Directory
If you would like a printed copy of the church directory, please reach out to Toni Beasley and she will get one into your hands. We know how meaningful it is to be able to put names with faces and to keep our church family close, even between Sundays. News will be coming soon on how to request a digital version as well, so stay tuned.

Whatever this month holds — whether you find yourself around a bingo table, a dinner table, or a trivia table — we are glad you are part of this church family. Each gathering, big or small, is a chance to live out what it means to belong to one another. If you have questions about any event or want to get involved, do not hesitate to reach out.

See you soon!
