March Newsletter

As we move closer to spring, there is a sense of anticipation in the air, not just for warmer weather, but for the ways God continues to move in and through Mentor Church. This month, we want to share a few upcoming events and reflect on a powerful moment that reminded us why we serve.

A Life Touched Through Outreach
During one of our downtown feedings in February, something happened that deeply moved our team. A man approached us simply to say, “thank you.” He shared that he had once been homeless and going through an incredibly difficult season of life. During that time, the meals, kindness, and consistent presence of people serving downtown made a lasting impact on him.

Today, he has an apartment and is working to rebuild his life and move forward with hope.

It was a powerful reminder that what may feel like a small act of service, a meal, a conversation, or a moment of dignity, can have a lasting impact. We do not always see the full story when we serve, but God does. Sometimes He allows us to see glimpses of the difference being made. Thank you to everyone who supports and participates in our outreach efforts. Your faithfulness truly matters.

Opportunities to Gather, Serve, and Celebrate Together
Our annual Easter Egg Hunt is coming up on Saturday, April 4, from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM. This fun filled community event will include food, crafts, and more than 2,000 eggs for children to enjoy. It is always a wonderful opportunity to welcome families from both our church and the surrounding community. If you are interested in helping, please see the signup sheet located at the front desk.

We also invite you to join us for Bingo Night on March 24. It is always a relaxed evening of fellowship, laughter, and friendly competition, and a great way to spend time together.

In addition, our Youth Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser will take place on Sunday, March 15, 2026, from 12:00 to 2:00 PM EDT. After worship, the youth will be serving a spaghetti lunch through the kitchen doors. You are welcome to stay and eat together in the fellowship hall or take your meal to go. All donations will go toward helping our youth attend Summer Camp, planned for June 16 through June 20. This year we are preparing to take 25 students and 4 chaperones, and the cost per camper is approximately $360. Thank you for supporting our youth and investing in their spiritual growth.

We are also preparing to update and publish our church directory. If you have any changes to your name, children, address, or phone number, please contact Toni Beasley with your updated information by next Sunday, March 8. We want to ensure everything is accurate before the new directory is finalized.
