Highlights from the September 27 meeting:
- Leadership: Cindy Wilson will step down as council chair in December but will continue to represent WMU. Council will propose a change to the by-laws to read "Trustee chair or representative." Council is also considering whether other areas, such as ministries and outreach, should be able to name a representative to attend council meetings when needed.
- Ministry updates:
- The Young Adults class is going well, with 10–12 people so far.
- Youth are raising the deposit amount for camp to $150.
- WMU's September missions goal for Eliza Broadus is $500.
- Buildings & Grounds:
- The Trustees have been very busy. They sold the old bus, added the first aid kit by the AED, and replaced HVAC system #4.
- We have 12 units on the property and expect more replacements in the future.
- New thermostats are being installed, and all rooms are protected by RING security.
- Donated park benches will be placed on the front portico, and numbering the rooms is being considered.
- Finance: Work on the 2027 budget begins Monday, September 28, and the budget will be presented two weeks before the business meeting.
